Ira L. Wadsworth, age, 79 of Monteview, Idaho died Friday, June 6, 2003, at his home in Monteview. Ira was born on February 28, 1924, in Roy, Utah the son of Daniel Chester Wadsworth and Alta Baker Wadsworth. He was raised and graduated from school in Aberdeen, Idaho. He joined the Army Air Force in June of 1944 and was discharged in May of 1946. He was a sergeant and a tail gunner in B- 24’s. Ira was a member of the V.F.W. Verl Skidmore Post in Terreton. Ira married Mildred A. Taylor in Butte, Montana on February 21, 1948. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls L.D.S. Temple. As an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints he served in the Bishopric, Clerk, Ward Missionary, Temple worker, and in the extraction of Spanish names for genealogy. Ira worked for the Jefferson County Road and Bridge as a road grader. He ran Terreton Gas and Oil in Mud Lake, the Monteview Store, and welded machinery and mainline. Ira was a terrific grandfather and dad who loved to work. Survivors include:

Ira was preceded in death by his wife Mil, son Kevin Ira Wadsworth, parents, brothers and sisters, Nathan, Chester, Vernon Wadsworth, Meade Horton, , Bessie, Irene, Oram, Archie, Weston, and LaVina Stokes. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 11, 2003 at the Monteveiw Ward L.D.S. Chapel at 11:00 a.m. with Bishop John Smuin officiating. The family will meet with friends on Tuesday, June 10, 2003 at the church from 7:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. and prior to the services on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. Burial will follow the services at the West Jefferson Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby. The family expresses appreciation to the Home Health and Hospice.
