A. "Sam" Bernice Wood

Afton "Sam" Bernice Wood 89, passed away Thursday June 14, 2012, at her home in Ammon Idaho. She was born November 23, 1922 in Idaho Falls, Idaho to Henry Clark and Lydia Martha Wadsworth Clark, the 8th of 10 children. She was raised and attended schools in Bonneville County and graduated from Idaho Falls High School. On April 14, 1948 she married Joe E. Wood in Idaho Falls; to this union they added two sons. Sam had such a great sense of humor, she loved to listen to Big Band Music and in her early years she loved to dance. She was an excellent cook, seamstress and raised amazing flowers, she enjoyed bead work and loved animals all her life; especially cats. She believed in God and the power of prayer and although she had many health challenges, she never complained. She is survived by her son, Timothy Wood, of Idaho Falls, 5 grandchildren and five great grand children. She had many nieces and nephews that loved her dearly. She was blessed daily by wonderful neighbors and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, son, Tawn Eli Wood, three sisters and 6 brothers. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 19, 2012, at Fielding Memorial Cemetery in Idaho Falls. Services are under the direction of Eckersell Memorial; Chapel in Rigby.
