Afton Arehart

Afton Arehart, age 66, of Idaho Falls died Tuesday, April 01, 2003 at the Golden Pines care center in Rigby. Afton was born on August 25, 1936 in Grant, Idaho the daughter of Abram Wayne Wilson and Vendetta Cook Wilson. She attended school in Roberts and Rigby. Afton married Jim F. Arehart on May 28, 1953 in Butte, Montana. Afton and Jim would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in May. She worked for Albertson Inc. for thirty years as a front end clerk trainer. Afton’s family saw her as a loving mother and wife who enjoyed camping, hunting, horse racing, family activities, following her children and grandchildren in sports activities, and express thanks to Hospice and Golden Pines Shelter home for their kind and loving care. Survivors include her husband Jim F. Arehart of Idaho Falls, Idaho, one daughter, Roxie (Gordon L.) Steele of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Three sons, Tony (Kim) Arehart of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Todd Arehart of Houston, Texas, Tim (Karlene) Arehart of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Three sisters LaRae Peterson of Arco, Idaho, Ina (Jack) Hunter of Boise, Idaho, Cheryl (John) Bennett of Boise, Idaho, six brothers, the late Glendon (JoEtta) Wilson of Boise, Idaho, Lonnie Wilson of Rigby, Idaho, Ronald (Colene) Wilson of Rexburg, Idaho, Monte (Lynda) Wilson of Rexburg, Idaho, Reed (Wanna) Wilson of Denver, Colorado, Val (Ellen) Wilson of Irving, Texas, Steve (Diane) Wilson of Rigby, Idaho. Eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Afton was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother Glendon Wilson. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 3, 2003 at the Eckersell Memorial Chapel at 1:00 pm. The family will meet with friends on Wednesday, April 2, 2003 at the Eckersell Memorial Chapel from 7:00 pm until 8:30 pm and prior to the services on Thursday from 11:30 am until 12:50 pm. Burial will follow the services at the Grant Central Cemetery.
