Afton Lucile Scott

March 15, 1917 — November 21, 2002

Afton Lucile Scott, age 85 of Monteview, died in the Idaho Falls Care Center, Thursday, November 21, 2002. Afton was born March 15, 1917, at Perry, Idaho a daughter of Vernal George Park and Mary Theo Dutson Park. She attended schools in Ririe, graduating from Ririe High School. She married Clyde Raymond Scott, September 12, 1935, at Rigby. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple April 4, 1939. As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints she served as Sunday School Teacher, Young Women Teacher and was active in family research working in the Family History Center. She enjoyed crocheting, embroidery, reading, gardening, cooking, flowers and wore her life out serving family and friends. Survivors include two daughters Ruth (Mark) Maughan of Jensen, Utah Deneice (John) Kinghorn of Somerset, New Jersey. Four sons Stan (Jean) Scott of Monteview, Idaho, Deral Scott of Lyman, Wyoming, Ken (Kayleen) Scott of San Luis Obispo, California, Blaine (Debbie) Scott of Logan, Utah. Three sisters; Wanda Wallin of Sandy, Utah, Nelda Mace of Sandy, Utah and LaRee (Alton) Rainey of Rigby, Idaho. Four brothers; Norman (Carol) Park of Garfield, Idaho, Nolan (Ruth) Park of Riverton, Utah, Alan (Edith) Park of Idaho Falls, Idaho and Ralph Park of Sandy, Utah. Fourty grandchildren, Eightsix great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and 1 sister, Donna Turner. Funeral Services will be held Monday, November 25, 2002, at 11:00 a.m. in the Monteview LDS Ward Chapel with Bishop John Smuin officiating. The family will visit with friends Sunday, November 24, 2002, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Eckersell Memorial Chapel (101 West Main Street) Rigby, Idaho, and on Monday November 25, 2002, from 9:30a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at the Monteview LDS Ward Chapel. Burial will be in the Annis Little Butte Cemetery.
