Alan Wayne Muncey

Alan Wayne Muncey, age 95, passed away on July 9, 2025 in Layton Utah.

Alan was born in Idaho Falls, ID on February 13, 1930 to Marion Lafayette (Bus) and Bessie Leona (Welchman) Muncey. Alan grew up in Idaho Falls, ID and graduated from Idaho Falls High School. He married Sheron Rae Eckersell in 1951, living in France for two years as he served in the US Air Force. They had three children. They later divorced. In 1965 he married Laura Mae Schubert. They were later sealed in the LDS Ogden Utah Temple and made their home in Ogden and later in Layton. They have 2 children.  They would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this coming October.

Alan retired from Key Bank Corporation in 1992. He worked in the banking business as accountant, auditor, manager and finally as a senior vice-president for Key Corporation. He was in the banking industry for 39 years.

He is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He had a deep love for the gospel and his Savior Jesus Christ. He served in many ward and stake callings through the years.  His favorites were as financial clerk and stake auditor.  He and Laura served in the Ogden Utah temple together for 12 years.

Alan is survived by his wife, Laura and children: Ron (Janet) Muncey, Marilyn (Dale Tortorich) Muncey, Colette (Matt) Bundy, Shelley (Bryan) Donnelly; 27 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and 2 great great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Lavon Dean Muncey, Daughter Susan Penman and Son-in-Law Steven Penman.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, July 16, 2025 at 12:00 p.m. (noon) at Lindquist’s Memorial Park of Layton, 1867 N Fairfield Rd. Layton, UT. A viewing will be held prior to the service from 10:00 - 11:30 a.m. at Lindquist’s Mortuary, 1867 N Fairfield Rd. Layton, UT. Interment will be at the Lindquist’s Memorial Park of Layton.
