Alfred Lee Franck, 77 of Monteview died Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at his home.
He was born Sept 7, 1937 in Idaho Falls, to Lee Walter Franck and Thelma Mary Allen Franck. He was raised and attended schools in Idaho Falls, Rigby, and Roberts. On February 13, 1959, he married Roberta May Williams in Dillon, Montana.
Alfred farmed in the Hamer area for Ted Oram from 1953 – 1962, and then he and his young family moved to Osgood where he worked for Forde Johnson Oil Company. In 1973, the family moved to Terreton where he worked for Jefferson County Road and Bridge as a Road Grader Operator for 26 years until he retired. Alfred enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and going for rides. He was the family historian, had the gift of gab, loved animals and enjoyed playing games with his nieces, nephews and grandchildren.
He is survived by his daughter, Debbie (Rick) Caudle, of Terreton, siblings, Dan Lavell (Barbara) Franck, of Hondo, Texas, Eli Allen Franck of Bayard, New Mexico, Theda Gray of Menan, Michael Reed (Dorothy) Franck of Whitney, Texas, David Herman Franck, of Rigby, Walter Glen (Lorna) Franck, of Idaho Falls, Truman Kent (Susan) Franck of Hoquiam, Washington, Rulon Jay (Janet) Franck, of Menan, Carl Eugene Franck, of Rexburg, George Ray (Sallee) Franck, of Blanding, Utah, Jolene Pinnock of Las Vegas, Nevada, 5 grand children, Brian (Victoria) Caudle, of Tallahassee, Florida, Jeffrey (Lauren) Caudle, of Idaho Falls, Andrew (Trudy) Befort, of Ingalls, Kansas, Shellie (Billy Reeser) Befort, of New London, Missouri, Mitch Befort, of Garden City, Kansas, and 8 great-grandchildren, Hope, Cynthia, Billie Jo, Elijah, Silas, Amry, Seth, Selah.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, daughter, Linda, sisters, Eileene and Janet.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, September 29, 2014 at Eckersell Memorial Chapel, 101 W. Main Street, Rigby. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Sunday and from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m., prior to services, both at the funeral home. Burial will be in the West Jefferson Cemetery. Services are under the care of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
