Alfred “Ted” Mark Ritchie; 62, of Rigby, Idaho died Sunday, January 26, 2003 at his home.
Ted was born May 15, 1940 in Rigby, Idaho the son of Alfred J Ritchie and Elma Rayola Fox
Ritchie.
Ted grew up and attended Rigby schools. He married Carole Ann Jardine in Pocatello, Idaho on
January 28, 1959. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Ted was a member of the Upper Valley Square Dancers Club, the Jolly Mixers Square Dance
Club and the Eagles Lodge. He had served as President of the Upper Valley C.B. Club. He rode
with posse’s in the Upper Valley and was a member of the National Chariot Racing association.
He was a truck driver delivering Propane for Van Gas and Suburban Propane Company. He
worked for Rigby Co-op and Rigby Coal and Feed and as Sexton for the Rigby Pioneer
Cemetery.
He enjoyed horses, square dancing and camping.
Ted is survived by his wife Carole Ann Ritchie of Rigby, Idaho. A daughter, Teddie Ann
Ritchie of Rigby, Idaho and two sons, Gary Mark (Kristine) Ritchie of Pocatello, Idaho and
Roger Don (Glo) Ritchie of Lewisville, Idaho. Two sisters; Carol Rackham of Jackson,
Wyoming and Patti Ann (Jim) Crouch of Dayton, Montana. A step-brother, Tobe Gasser of
Rigby, Idaho and a step-sister, Cindy (Lynn) Radford of Ririe, Idaho. Ten grandchildren and
fifteen great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, January 30, 2003 at the Rigby Pioneer Cemetery at
11:30 a.m. The family will meet with friends Wednesday Evening 7:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m at
Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby, and Thursday 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will be in the Rigby Pioneer Cemetery.
