Alice Harris Bennett, 92, peacefully passed away on July 13, 2023 at her home surrounded by her loved ones.

Alice was born on February 20, 1931 in Beaver, Utah to Caddie Riding and James Arnold Ashworth.

She attended schools in Idaho Falls and graduated from Idaho Falls High School.

Alice married Dean J. Pettingill in 1949, they later divorced. She married Robert Dale Harris on June 10, 1955. Their union brought four children, who she loved dearly: Robert, Sheldon, Kay, and Jan. Robert passed away on January 30, 1999. Alice married Lynn Bennett on April 22, 2000 in Rigby, Idaho.

During her life, Alice enjoyed bowling, pinochle, sewing, crocheting, art, gardening, singing and spoiling those darling grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Alice was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in many callings.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Arnold and Caddie Ashworth; sister Ina Bischoff; brothers Wayne Ashworth, Jason Ashworth and Glenn Ashworth; daughter Jan Harris Boline and husband Robert Dale Harris.

Alice is survived by her husband, Lynn Bennett; sons: Robert Dale Harris Jr. of Palmer AK, Sheldon Max (Robin) Harris of Idaho Falls ID, and Kay Wayne Harris of Dallas TX; ten grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Alice will be held on Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the Perry LDS Ward building. Viewings will be held the night prior from 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m., as well as the morning before from 9:30 a.m. – 10:45 a.m. Interment will follow the funeral service at the Ririe-Shelton Cemetery.

Alice’s family would like to thank her in-home caregivers Penny, Velvet, and Liz, and the Hospice of Eastern Idaho nurses and aides for the special care they provided Alice in the final weeks of her life.
