Alice Louise Parkinson

June 4, 1929 — January 28, 2019

Alice Louise Parkinson, 89 of Sugar City, passed away Monday, January 28, 2019 at the University Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas.

Alice was born June 4, 1929 in Roanoke, Missouri to Minnie Lee Shipley Miller and John Franklin Miller.  She was raised and attended schools in Ririe, Idaho.  On June 4, 1946, she married Eldon Earl Parkinson in Egin, Idaho; their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls Temple in October of 1978.  They were blessed with 6 children.

Alice worked at the Hospital of St. Anthony in Central Supply and for Tibbitts Warehouse in Egin.  She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in the Relief Society as a Visiting Teacher Record Keeper.  She enjoyed camping, sewing, crocheting and quilting.  She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughters, Dorothy Spafford of Ammon, Idaho, LaVern Ortiz of Quitaque, Texas, a son, Frank (Carrie) Parkinson, of Plano, Idaho, 17 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Eldon Earl Parkinson; daughters, Priscilla May Parkinson, Sheila Sanchez; son, Eldon Dee Parkinson; parents, John and Minnie Miller; 4 sisters and 8 brothers.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, February 4, 2019 at the Sugar City 2 nd Ward Chapel, 6 North Teton Avenue, Sugar City.  The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Sunday, February 3, 2019 at Eckersell Funeral Home, 101 West Main Street, Rigby, and Monday, prior to services from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. at the church.  Burial will be in the St. Anthony Cemetery.  Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.eckersellfuneralhome.com
