Alice Ricks

Alice Scott Ricks, 94 of Ririe, passed away Sunday, June 28, 2015 at her home. Alice was born to Samuel Rudger Scott and Esther Denning Scott in Ririe, April 3, 1921 in Ririe. She was raised and attended schools in Ririe, graduating from Ririe High School. On August 6, 1938, she married Bennie Charles Ricks in LaBelle; their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. They lived in Roberts, and the Ammon area where she farmed with her husband. She also worked for Dukes & Halker Bakery in Idaho Falls, for Rogers Brothers, Idaho Fresh Pak and Pro-Idahoan Potato Processing in Ririe. Alice was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many capacities. Alice was loved by her family and will be greatly missed; she was a friend to everyone. She is survived by her children, Janice (Ralph) Smith, of Dubois, LaJuan Yazzie, of Ririe, Sheryl (Kevin) Harward of Show Low, Arizona, Deborah (Mike) Wiczek, of Winona, Minnesota and 98 grandchildren. Her posterity now numbers 103. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, 1 brother, 4 sisters and a son, Alan C. Ricks. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday July 2, 2015 at the Ririe-Perry Ward LDS Chapel, 285 2nd west in Ririe with Bishop Bert Brown officiating. The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Eckersell Memorial Chapel, 101 W. Main Street, Rigby and from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Ririe-Shelton Cemetery. Services are under the care of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby. Many thanks from her family to her dear friends.
