Allason Ford Smith

February 1, 1943 — March 27, 2025

Allason (Allie) Ford Smith passed away on March 27, 2025, in her home in Ammon, loved and
surrounded by her family. She was born in Rexburg, ID on February 1, 1943, daughter of Ford
Smith and Marjorie Bybee Smith.
Allie graduated from Madison High School. She was a talented artist and had many fond
memories of her years there. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Education from Idaho State
University and enjoyed a long and successful career as a Title 1 specialist in Bonneville School
District #93. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Allie loved
riding with her husband on their Harley and going for long car drives with her friends, family
and her cocker spaniel, Paco.
Allie and her first husband, Ted M. Hill, were blessed with three children - Beverly Hill van
Joolen (Vincent van Joolen), Jeffery Hill (Marla Hobbs Hill) & Jacqueline (Jaci) Hill (Dean
Moncur); seven grandchildren - Alaire Hill, Mekenzie Hill, Jordyn Hill, Adam Croft (Kristy
Denning Croft), Nicholas Croft (Candace Mathews Croft), Skylar van Joolen, and Bronwyn van
Joolen; two step-grandchildren - Jeanette Moncur Murphy (Derreck Murphy) and Lawson
Moncur; five great-grandchildren - Kiara Croft, Joshua Croft, Andrew Croft, Raegan Croft and
Brynley Croft, and two step-great grandchildren - Macee Murphy & Kaupyr Murphy.
She later married S. Brent Strand, the love of her life, and they shared two children, Maegan
Strand Peck (Nate Peck) and Chris Strand, and one step-grandson, Zach Peck.
Allie is survived by her children and brother, Holly Blue Smith (Carol Rae Smith), niece Rebecca
Smith Sok (Rom Sok), grand-nieces Cleo Sok & Lilly Sok, and her grand-nephews Skyler Sok &
Monte Blue Sok. Allie adored her family and loved visiting them at their homes all across the
country.
Allie was preceded in death by her parents, her nephew, Nate Smith, her step-granddaughter,
Macee Moncur, and her husband, S. Brent Strand.
A graveside service will be held at Sutton Cemetery, Rexburg, ID, at 1:00 pm, on Saturday,
March 29, 2025, conducted by Eckersell Funeral Home (www.eckersellfuneralhome.com).
A Celebration of Life will be held later in the summer.
Allie was generous in giving to many charities. In lieu of flowers, we know she would invite you
to donate to one of her favorites - St. Jude's Childrens Research Hospital
