Aloha Marie "Sammy" Radford Oleson

Aloha Marie “Sammy” Radford Oleson, 71, of Idaho Falls, passed away Friday, January 25, 2013, at Pinebrook Assisted Living Center in Idaho Falls, from a long-term illness. She was born June 9, 1941, in Rigby to Therle Faye Radford and Martha LaMetta Collier Radford. She was raised in Menan and attended schools in Rigby. She married Keith McDaniel July 5, 1957 in Menan; they later divorced. In 1962 she married Vanoy Hansen; they later divorced. In 1972 she married Franklin R. Howard in Idaho Falls; they later divorced. In 1980 she married Dwayne Oleson, he preceded her in death. She worked for River View Hospital, The Alcohol Rehabilitation Association (ARA) and The State of Nevada Correctional Facility. She also attended Excelsis Beauty College and was a bartender at various bars in the area. Sammy was a member of the Eagles Lodge; she enjoyed playing pool and darts, helping others, reading, traveling, music and movies. She is survived by her children, Peggy McDaniel Love, Anne (Kurt) Hill, son, Trevor (Celeste) Oleson, brothers, Kenneth (Norma) Radford, Alan (Carol) Radford, all of Idaho Falls, 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dwayne Oleson, her parents, a son, Therle Wayne “Little Joe” Hansen, and a grandson, Brian James Love. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., January 29, 2013 at Eckersell Memorial Chapel, 101 W. Main Street, Rigby. The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m., prior to services at the funeral home.
