Alta MAE Clifford, age 93, of Rigby, died Thursday, April 28, 2005 in Rigby. Mae was born September 19, 1911 in Rexburg, Idaho, the daughter of William and Catherine Ann Petersen Walker. Mae grew up and attended schools in Pocatello, Idaho. She married Arnold Edgar Lee February 22, 1933 in Logan, Utah. He preceded her in death. She later married Myrtis LaVerl Clifford, December 21, 1950 in Idaho Falls, Idaho. He preceded her in death. She later married Melvin Clement, September 19, 1993 in Lewisville, Idaho. He preceded her in death. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints. She served in the Primary and Relief Society Organizations. She served as the Rigby Stake Dance director for several years. Mae loved to participate in Square Dancing. Mae worked at Idaho First National Bank, and on the farm. She served as Jefferson County Treasurer from 1948 to 1952. She made ceramic dolls, and was an excellent seamstress. She enjoyed art and was an avid painter. She was active in the 4-H program. Mae is survived by two daughters, D. Joyce Briggs of Rigby, Idaho, and Linda Mae (John) Bohane of Nokomis, Florida. She is survived by seven grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, and seven great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters, and four brothers. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 3, 2003, at 1:00 p.m. in the Rigby L.D.S. Stake Center with Bp. Earl Bishop officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday, 1l:00 a.m. – 12:45 p.m. prior to service at the Stake Center. Interment will be in the Lewisville Cemetery, under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
