Alvin Maxwell Eyre, 83, of Menan died at his home on Thursday, July 25, 2002 of congestive
heart failure. Alvin was born December 29, 1918 in Cowley, Wyoming the son of John Edwin
Eyre Jr. and Emma Jane Maxwell Eyre. He was raised and attended school in Cowley,
Wyoming. Alvin married Cleo Doreen Scholz on February 17, 1953 in Worland, Wyoming and
their marriage was sealed in the Idaho Falls L.D.S. Temple on February 24, 1965. After their
marriage they lived in Thermopolis, Wyoming until 1959 when they moved to Roberts, Idaho; in
1960 they moved to Menan, Idaho . Alvin worked as a sheep shearer working in Wyoming,
Idaho, Montana, California, Nevada, South Dakota and surrounding areas. As a member of the
Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Alvin served in the Bishopric, as the Sunday School
President, Stake Missionary, High Priest Quorum counselor, Stake Seventy, and Home Teacher.
Alvin loved to hunt, fish, going to the movies, getting firewood, but most of all he loved his
family and grandchildren.

Alvin was preceded in death by his parents, 4 sisters, 4 brothers and 1 granddaughter.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 29, 2002 at 1:00 p.m. at the Menan Stake Center.
The family will meet with friends on Monday prior to the services from 11:30 a.m. till 12:45 p.m.
at the Stake Center. Burial will follow the services at the Annis Little Butte Cemetery.
