Ana Maria Madin de Rodriguez, passed on the morning of Saturday, Feb. 19, 2022, in her home in Rigby, ID.
She was born in Mexico on Aug. 15, 1940, to Crisoforo Madin Rosas and Silvina Cervantez de Madin. She was the 8th of 9 children.
In 1961, Ana married Odilon Rodriguez Duran on Feb. 28. They had six children together, Silvina, Francisca, Teresa, Saul, Veronica, and Mario. They were happily married for 41 years until his passing in 2003.
Ana and Odilon emigrated to the United States, settling in Corning, CA where she worked for the Bell Carter Olive Co. until her retirement. Ana was a member of the congregation for Iglesia Nueva Vida (New Life Church) in Red Bluff, CA.
When she and her family moved to Rigby, ID, Ana attended Crown of Life Lutheran Church for nearly 10 years.
She enjoyed reading novels, always asking her children and grandchildren to find her books to read in Spanish. She loved to sing and crochet, as well go through many books of sudoku and word searches. Most of all, she loved spending time with her granddaughters and her great-granddaughter.
Ana is survived by her children Silvina (Frank) Grant of Rigby, Teresa Rodriguez of Rigby, Saul Rodriguez of Rigby, and Veronica Rodriguez of Rigby. She is also survived by her sisters Sara Madin de Juarez and Rebecca Madin. Her granddaughters are Violeta (Robert) Carlson of Idaho Falls, Celeste (Kurt) Vieira of Rigby, Edna Grant of Rigby, and her great-granddaughter Mia Steen-Rodriguez. She was preceded in death by her son Mario Rodriguez, her husband Odilon Rodriguez and her daughter Francisca Rodriguez.
Services will be held on Saturday, Feb. 26 at 4 p.m. at Crown of Life Lutheran Church. A visitation will be held on the same day for half an hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the Pioneer Cemetery in Rigby.
