Ana Maria Vazquez Delgado passed away peacefully at home in Rexburg, Idaho, surrounded by her kids and grandkids on February 15, 2021.
She was born March 13, 1952 in Irapuato, Guanajuato, Mexico to Manuel and Josefina Vazquez. In her late teens, one of Ana’s good friends thought she should meet her brother but she disliked him instead, she felt a connection with their older brother, Juan. Finally, she married the love of her life, Juan Manuel Delgado at the age of 22 on September 5, 1974 who preceded her in death in 2010. However, they are physically reunited once again in California and we are confident they are reunited in spirit as well, and we couldn’t be happier for them.
Ana had many talents. She loved to be crafty and provided for the loves of her life, her family. She enjoyed creating flower and fruit arrangements for the holidays, and any chance she had to show her affection to her children. She enjoyed having friends over for dinner on Sundays and her children were encouraged to have friends over as well which was a very easy thing to do because everyone loved the delicious food she was known to make. Ana didn’t mind a challenge and organizing large church events paired with an extensive menu came easy to her. Ana loved to sing at home and in the church choir.
She was a hardworking woman who took all of her challenges in stride with her families well being in mind. In addition to her familial obligations, Ana was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Ana served in many capacities within the church such as Young Women’s president, Primary president, Relief Society president and Ward chorister. Her life was a true testament of service.
Ana was a devoted wife and mother that loved her family. She is survived by her seven children and their spouses: Erika and Joe Hanna, Samantha and Cesar Torres, Omar and Rosa Delgado, Emanuel and Anna Delgado, Spencer and Amanda Delgado, Jennifer and Anthony Martinez, and Stephany Lissette Delgado; plus, 18 grandchildren: Anthony, Jerod, Isaiah, Vivienne, Jacob, Makayla, Jaden, Julieanna, Elih, Jonah, Beiley, Noah, Emma, Patricia, Lena, Ava, Maddox and Sophia. All of these she loved and touched deeply. Her love and memories of her beautiful dedication will continue to live and be remembered in our heart.
