Norma Ann Chivers Strupp, age 74 of Rigby passed away Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls.
She was born March 13, 1940 in Rigby, Idaho, a daughter to H. Wayne Chivers and Norma Mary Bates Chivers. She was raised in the Rigby and Ririe areas, attended Rigby schools, and graduated from Rigby High School on May 28, 1958. During high school she was president of the Pep Club. On August 22, 1958 she married Darwin Lamar Fife in Rigby; their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. After 18 years of marriage, Ann and Darwin divorced. On May 15, 1981 she married Glen Austin Strupp; he preceded her in death.
Ann was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She worked for various employers throughout her life; Reed Drug, A & W Root Beer, JC Penny in Idaho Falls, Idaho Fresh Pak, Joint School District 251 as a Bus Driver, Sheriff Dispatch for Jefferson and Fremont Counties. She also worked for Mike Kennedy Prosecuting Attorney as Secretary, Idaho Probation and Parole as Presentence Investigator. She also worked for Farm Bureau Insurance and retired with 21 years of service. Ann was very involved in the community; she served as City Council Woman for 10 years, assigned as Police Commissioner, and over the Fire Department for 10 years. She was also President of City Council, and served as Jefferson County Parade Chairman for 17 years. She received several awards throughout her life such as; Farm Bureau Secretary of The Month, Community Service Award from the Rigby Chamber of Commerce, Community Service Award from the Rigby VFW Post 1004, and the State of Idaho Community service Award.
Ann enjoyed writing poetry and often wrote poems for funeral programs for countless friends and family. She enjoyed talking with friends and family and always had a funny joke to tell to brighten your day. She also enjoyed spending precious moments with her family as this meant the world to her.
She is survived by her sons, Wayne (Nikki) Fife, of Menan, Joe (Trudy) Fife of Idaho Falls, daughter, Holly Fife (Kerry) Romrell, of Rigby, sister, Lola Joy Chivers of Pocatello, 14 grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Glen Strupp, her parents, H. Wayne Chivers and Norma Mary Bates Chivers, her sisters Baby Diana Gay Chivers and Barbara Kay Chivers.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at Eckersell Memorial Chapel, 101 West Main Street, Rigby. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6 to 8:00 p.m. and from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services, both at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Rigby Pioneer Cemetery.
