Arda S Jensen

Arda Simmons Jensen Jensen, 95, of Idaho Falls, Idaho died Monday, June 25, 2018 at her home. She was born September 12, 1922 in Ucon, Idaho, the daughter of Alma Jensen and Emma Rebecca Jensen.  She was the second born of two daughters.

She attended schools in Ucon and graduated from Ucon High School. She attended Ricks College for 2 years where she met her husband, Lowell Jensen.  They were married on April 8, 1942, in Salt Lake City, Utah at the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He passed away on January 19, 2010.

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served in many callings including Ward and Stake Primary President. With her husband, she served as a missionary in the Virginia, Roanoke Mission.  They also had the opportunity to serve in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple for 5 years.

Arda and her husband lived in Ucon where they had a grade A dairy farm for many years. They moved to Howe, Idaho where they farmed and ran the Jensen General Store in Howe, Idaho for 8 years. Later they moved to St. George, Utah working as Assistant Managers of the Temple Apartments.  In 1996 they moved back to Idaho where they made their home in Idaho Falls in the Coltman area.

Arda enjoyed quilting, crocheting, sewing, raising her family, entertaining and traveling.

Arda is survived by her children, Darray (Andy) Haight of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Gary (Kathi) Jensen of Howe, Idaho, Peggy (Greg) Knox of St. George, Utah, Gail (Blair) Sautter of Idaho Falls, Idaho, and Mike (Lisa) Jensen of Idaho Falls, Idaho. 31 grandchildren, 101 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, a sister, two grandsons, a granddaughter, and a great granddaughter.

Arda's funeral service will be held Saturday, June 30, 2018 at 11:00 AM in the Coltman LDS Ward Chapel, (12448 North 5 ^th East, Idaho Falls, Idaho).  The family will meet with friends Friday, June 29, 2018 at Eckersell Memorial Chapel (101 West Main Street, Rigby, Idaho) from 7:00 to 8:30 PM and again prior to services on Saturday at the Coltman LDS Church from 9:30 to 10:45 AM.  Interment will be in the Ucon Cemetery.
