Ardis Shaw Kofoed, age 79, of Annis, died at her home in Annis, Friday, November 25, 2005. Ardis was born July l7, 1926, at Salt Lake City, Utah to James Albert Shaw and Mary Ann Thatcher Shaw. She attended schools in the Teton Basin (Tetonia) graduating from Teton High School. She then attended Ricks College and Idaho State University receiving a Bachelors Degree in Nursing. She worked in Teton Valley Hospital, Madison Memorial Hospital, L.D.S. Hospital in Salt Lake City, L.D.S. Hospital in Idaho Falls and for Doctors Asael and Aldon Tall in Rigby. She attended Cadet Nurse Training for the United States Army. She taught at Ricks College in the Nursing Department until retirement. She was an administrator at the Teton Valley Hospital, Madison Memorial Hospital and Ashton Hospital. She married Lorenzo Baird Kofoed May 5, 1946 in Evanston, Wyoming. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints holding many positions in Sunday School, Relief Society and Cub Scouts. She enjoyed her family nursing, cooking, canning, camping and serving others. Survivors include: her husband Lorenzo Kofoed of Annis, Idaho; 1 daughter Carolyn (Cory) Jones of Rigby; three sons; Wayne Kofoed and Robert (Terri) Kofoed both of Dallas, Texas, Reed (Carmen) Kofoed of Winnemucca, Nevada; three sisters: Roxanna Brown of Salt Lake City, Utah, Mary Lofthouse of Lava Hot Springs, Idaho, Naomi Norwood of Salt Lake City, Utah; one brother Jim (Pauline) Shaw serving a mission for the LDS Church in the Philippine Mission, and 8 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 29, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. in the Menan Stake Center with Bishop Kevin Searle officiating. The family will visit with friends on Monday from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at Eckersell Memorial Chapel and on Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. at the Stake Center. Burial will be in the Cache-Clawson Cemetery in Tetonia, Idaho under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel.
