Ariana Berkouwer

Ariana Berkouwer; 75, of Rigby, Idaho and formerly of The Netherlands died Saturday, February 28, 2004 in Rexburg, Idaho Ariana was born September 21, 1928 in Ijselmonde – Zuidholland – The Netherlands, (Holland), the daughter of Jan Bol and Huibert Je Deruyter. She attended school there until World War II when the Germans dispanded the education program. She later earned her diploma in Fashion Design. She married Leendert Berkouwer on the 5th of September, 1951 in Gouda – Zuidholland – The Netherlands. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and enjoyed crocheting, knitting and needle work. She is survived by her son Bastiann (Kris) Berkouwer of Rigby, Idaho. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 3, 2004 at the Rigby 3rd Ward LDS Chapel (364 North 4100 East, Rigby, Idaho) at 1:00 p.m. with Bishop Brian Summers officiating. The family will meet with friends Wednesday, March 3, 2004 from 11:30 a.m to 12:45 p.m. at the Rigby 3rd Ward LDS Church. Burial will be in the Rigby Pioneer Cemetery, under the direction of Eckersell Funeral Home.
