Arvilla Mae Montgomery, 88, of Rigby, formerly of Fresno, California, Died Monday, November 9, 2009, at her home.
She was born May 1, 1921, in Groton, South Dakota, to Bernhard F. Breitkreutz, and Cecelia Graff Breitkreutz. She was raised and attended schools in Groton, South Dakota. She worked in a dress shop in Fresno, at Woolworths and during WWII; she worked in the ship yards. She married Avery Mueller, they were later divorced. On September 29, 1945, she married Walter Howard Montgomery, he preceded her in death. During her life she lived in Fresno, California, Eugene, Oregon, and Rigby, Idaho.
Arvilla enjoyed dancing, embroidering, bowling, and partying with friends and family.
She is survived by a sister, June Yates, of Idaho Falls, and Betty Cowan, of Bakersfield, California.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, “Buddy” Breitkreutz, a sister, Ester Williams, and her husband, Walter H. Montgomery.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, November 14, 2009, at Eckersell Memorial Chapel, 101 West Main Street, Rigby. The family will visit with friends from 12:30 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., prior to the service at the Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Chapel of the Light Mausoleum, in Fresno, California.
