Ashlee Grace Andrews

October 14, 1994 — January 22, 2015

Ashlee Grace Andrews came into this world early at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center on October 14, 1994. On January 22, 2015, she left this world too early at the same hospital. She was twenty years old. Ashlee attended elementary and junior high in Boise, Idaho. At age fifteen, she moved to Oregon, graduating from Cascade High School in Aumsville. After attending Southern Oregon University for a year, Ashlee came to live with her mother in Rigby this past December. She started her studies at BYU-I in January 2015. Ashlee was baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on December 27th, 2014. During high school, Ashlee became involved in theater where she developed an interest in costume and set design; she participated in all stages of play production. She adored music in every way. She was a member of her high school choir and enjoyed travelling to performances. She had a passion for dance and often wished she had pursued it fully. Ever since Ashlee was a young girl, she loved nature. Whether it was being on the beach or in the woods, being outdoors is where she was happiest. Some of her pastimes were crafting, knitting and sewing. Ashlee made blankets for her brother and sister, as well as several other keepsakes. Recently, she gained interest in family history and began her personal genealogy. She had also completed many family indexing projects. She was introduced to WOW by her mother, aunt and grandparents, and they all loved spending time playing in their family guild. After briefly studying law, Ashlee decided her true calling was in the nursing field where she could directly care for people, which she was naturally gifted in doing. Ashlee is survived by her mother, Emily Kathleen Neilson of Rigby, her father and step-mother, Earl Wayne Andrews, Jr. and Karla Jean Smith of Aumsville, Oregon; her brother and sister, Justin and Sarah Neilson of Rigby; her grandparents, Cindy Edwards and Bill Newland of Grant; Nancy Heath of McMinnville, Oregon and Earl Wayne Andrews, Sr. of McMinnville, Oregon; her great-grandmother, Geraldine Davis and her aunts, Katie, Stephanie, Ruthee, Leslie and Erin; and her uncles Jeff and Shaun. Her family would like to express their sincere thanks to all emergency professionals that attended to her at her home. They also extend their deep gratitude to the staff at EIRMC for their valiant efforts to save her life. Services will be held at Eckersell Funeral Home in Rigby on Monday, January 26, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. Attendees are welcome to arrive at 2:30 p.m. to meet with the family prior to service. A separate memorial will take place on a future date in Oregon.
