Ashlee Jannetta Nickum

Ashlee Jannetta Nickum, 40, of Winston, Oregon passed away Thursday, March 28, 2024 at Mercy Hospital in Roseberg, Oregon.  Ashlee was born in Meridian, Idaho on December 2, 1983, the daughter of Carl and Sandra Brower Carlson. She is a graduate of Sugar Salem High School in Sugar City, Idaho.

Ashlee married Ryan Nickum on March 5, 2019 in Las Vegas, Nevada. They made their home in Winston, Oregon where they worked as house keepers and enjoyed the Pacific coast line. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and loved writing, taking care of her dog Sammy, and her cat Grey-Grey. She loved going to the beach in making diamond art.

Ashlee is survived by her husband, Ryan Nickum of Winston, Oregon. Her parents, Carl and Sandra Carlson of Salem, Idaho. A daughter, Kaylee Kennedy of Ririe, Idaho. A brother, Jace (Patty) Carlson and cousin, Brianna Carlson, both of Saratoga Springs, Utah. Her great-grandmother, Lerena Brower of St. Anthony, Idaho and many aunts, uncles and cousins on both sides of the family.

Ashlee was preceded in death by a son, Ayden Lyle Kennedy, her grandparents, Lee and Elinor Carlson, and Delton Brower. Great-grandparents, Ray and Viola Brower, Park and Mildred Carey.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at 12:00 noon at Eckersell Funeral Home, (101 W. Main Street, Rigby, ID). The family will meet with friends prior to the service from 10:30 am to 11:45 am at Eckersell’s. Interment will be in the Wilford Cemetery.
