Barbara Baxter

Barbara Baxter, 70, formerly of Rigby, of Clovis, California passed away August 28, 2012. She was born January 14, 1942 in Butte Montana to Arnold Orson Spencer and Leonora Myler Spencer. She raised and attended schools in Rigby, graduating from Rigby High School in 1960. She continued her education at Ricks College earning an Associate’s Degree in Science in 1962; and then a Master’s of Science in Teaching from Eastern Oregon College in 1967. Barbara was a high school teacher until she retired in June of 2012. She was passionate about making a difference in the lives of her students. Barbara was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved her family, gardening and knitting. She is survived by her three children, Scott (Nikki) Baxter, of San Diego, California, Stacey Baxter, of Fresno, California, Brian (Aimee) Baxter, of Clovis, California, her five grandchildren, Taylor, Sydnee, Bennett, Barndt, and Duncan, sisters, Arlene (Bob) Cordingley of Grant, Carol (Dale) Nelson of Ephrata, Washington, brothers, Elmer (Sue) Spencer, of Bountiful, Utah, Norman (Bobbie) Spencer, of Downey, and David (Karen) Spencer of Lewisville. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 30, 2012, at the Lewisville LDS Chapel.
