Barbara Carol Hardy

Barbara Carol Hardy, 74 of Idaho Falls, passed away Saturday, October 22, 2016. Barbara was born March 21, 1942 in Archer, Idaho to Eric Elmer Briggs and Clea Weekes Briggs. She graduated from Madison High School in 1960. On March 25, 1968, she married George Andrew Hardy; in Archer, Idaho; their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. They were blessed with 1 daughter and 3 sons. Barbara worked as a secretary at Slusser Wholesale in Idaho Falls for many years. Barbara was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints; she served in various callings including Primary President, Relief Society Secretary and as Ward Liberian. Barbara enjoyed crocheting and made and gave away many beautiful baby blankets. She enjoyed volunteering at Mountain View Hospital and going on drives. She is survived by her husband, George Hardy, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, daughter, Marcia (Mike) Colvin, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, sons, Andrew (Steffinie) Hardy, of Spring, Texas, Thomas Hardy of Idaho Falls, Idaho, George Scott (Catriona) Hardy of Clearfield, Utah, sisters, Elaine Yokom, of Cannon City, Colorado, Madeline (Ed) Colburn, of West Jordan, Utah, brothers, Lee (Julie) Briggs, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Larry C. Briggs, of Archer, Idaho, and 8 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Lynn Briggs, and sister, Loretta Dennis. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 29, 2016 at the Idaho Falls 14th Ward, (651 Gladstone Street, Idaho Falls, Idaho). The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at Eckersell Memorial Chapel, (101 West Main Street, Rigby) and from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m., Saturday, prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Sutton Cemetery. Services are under the care of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby. Memorial contributions may be made in Barbara’s name in care of Eckersell Memorial Chapel to assist with funeral expenses.
