Belva Jean Mugleston

Belva Jean Mugleston (affectionately called as Shorts), 93, of Rigby, passed away peacefully at home on May 26, 2023.  She was under the care of her loving family and Enhabit Hospice.

Belva was born June 19, 1930, in Osgood, Idaho to Victor McKinlay Jensen and Josephine Elizabeth Hinckley Jensen. She grew up and attended school in Lorenzo, Idaho, and graduated from Rigby High School.

On November 15, 1950, she married Dwaine Arthur Mugleston in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Idaho Falls Temple.  She had a career in banking and retired as the assistant branch manager of the Idaho First National Bank (US Bank), in Rigby.

She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her hobbies were doing church and community service, drinking diet Coke, shopping with her sister and best friend, Shirlene Keller, and attending the numerous activities of her nieces and nephews.

Belva is survived by her sons Gary Mugleston (Karen) of Yakima, WA; Darin Mugleston (Kim) of Meridian, ID; by her sister Shirlene Keller (Dwain) of Rigby; as well as by her six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, by her husband Dwain, by her siblings Donna Merrill, Clifford Jensen, Lynn Jensen, Robert (Bobby) Jensen, and by her grandson Bryce Mugleston.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, June 3, 2023, at 2:00 p.m., at the Rigby Pioneer Cemetery. Visitation will be at Eckersell Funeral Home (101 W Main St. Rigby, ID 83442) from 1:00 p.m. – 1:45 p.m.
