Bernice Warren Smith

Bernice Warren Smith, 83, of Rigby, passed away at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls, Saturday, July 12, 2014. Bernice was born January 9, 1931 at Taunton, Massachusetts, a daughter to Elwood P. and Harriett Carr Bullock. She attended schools in Taunton, graduating from Taunton High School. She married William Joseph Smith March 18, 1951 in Presque Isle, Maine. She enjoyed cooking, horseback riding, music, dancing and traveling. She traveled to every state except North Dakota. She never met anybody who wasn’t her friend. Survivors include her husband Bill Smith of Rigby, a daughter, Gerri Lynn Askren of Rigby, three sons, William Joseph (Kristina) Smith Jr. of Agoura Hills, CA, Daniel Allen (Teresa)Smith of Camarillo, CA, James Paul (Maria Elisabeth)Smith of Rigby, four sisters; Charlotte (Sidney) Ricketts of Choctaw, Oklahoma, Alice (John) Cusick of S. Yarmouth, Massachusetts, Dorothy (Wavey) Van Meter of Florida, Eleanor (Lawrence) Warner of Eaton Rapids, Michigan, seven grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents. Graveside Services will be held Tuesday July 15, 2014 at Rigby Pioneer Cemetery at 10:00 a.m. under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
