Berthalene Wade

Berthalene Wade, 79, of Idaho Falls, died Friday, December 7, 2007 at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. Berthalene was born April 9, 1928 at Jerome, Idaho a daughter to Lovell McCanahan Sr. and Manola Pauline McGowian McClanahan. She attended schools in Jerome and Idaho Falls, graduating from Idaho Falls High School. She then attended Idaho State University where she met Marvin Wade, they married August 17, 1947. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple in October of 1951. She opened her own sewing business named Sugar and Spice which was the for-runner of her Sugar and Spice Dance Studio. She was a member of the senior citizens bowling league and a Bridge Club in Idaho Falls. As a member of the LDS Church she served as librarian, relief society teacher and organized the senior sisters each month with a luncheon. Her life centered around her family, doing things for others and would give anything she had to anyone. Survivors include: her husband Marvin Wade of Idaho Falls, three daughters; Carie (Gary) Woodhouse and Peggy (Dennis) Greener of Idaho Falls and Jodi (Caleb) Anderson of Lewisville, two sons; Scott (Carol) Wade of Belfair, Washington and Roger (Geneine) Wade of Layton, Utah, one sister Ruth Corinne Parks of Idaho Falls, 19 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter Cathy Wade, two sisters Barbara Irene and Geraldine and one brother Lovell McClanahan II. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 11, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. in the Woodhaven Ward Chapel, 260 Castlerock Lane in Idaho Falls. The family will visit with friends on Monday from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. and on Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. both at the church. Burial will be in the Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
