Bettsy Radean Yates

Bettsy RaDean Moncur Yates, 89, of Rigby, passed away Saturday, January 30, 2016. RaDean was born July 24, 1926, at Paul, Idaho, a daughter to James Moncur and Ida Nelson Moncur. When RaDean was twelve the family moved to Ririe, Idaho. She married Chester Yates February 3, 1944, in Tooele, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple, April 27, 1965. Chet, RaDean, and family lived in San Diego, California, for five years before returning to Rigby in 1961. They have lived in the same house since then. RaDean owned a dress store in Rigby, RaDean’s Fashions, for many years. RaDean also worked as a Bank Teller. After retirement RaDean and Chet spent twenty-two winters in Quartzite, Arizona. She loved to sew quilts and her own clothing. She is survived by two daughters, Beverly Jean (Todd) Morris of Ashton, Idaho and Shelly Marie Lott of Idaho Falls, a son Douglas Evan (Donna) Yates of Rexburg, a sister, Donna Ker of Idaho Falls, brothers James (Maggie) Moncur of Idaho Falls, Richard (Cleone) Moncur of Declo, Idaho and Blaine (Joyce) Moncur of Idaho Falls, 12 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Chet, a sister Hazel Beth Moncur, and a son Darrell Laren Yates, who died as a baby. Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 4, 2016, at the Rigby 2nd Ward LDS Chapel, 364 North 4100 East, Rigby. The family will visit with friends, Wednesday, February 3, 2016, at Eckersell Memorial Chapel 101 West Main Street, Rigby from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m., and on Thursday, from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the Church.
