Betty Jean Ball-Hansen

August 28, 1929 — December 27, 2017

Betty Jean Crystal Ball Hansen, 88, of Rigby, Idaho passed away in her home Wednesday, December 27, 2017. Betty was born on August 28, 1929 to A.V. Crystal and Bessie V. Randall Crystal. She grew up and attended schools in the Garfield and Rigby areas where she graduated from Rigby High School. She married Eldon A “Bud” Ball on May 26, 1948, their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple September 30, 1983. They had 3 sons together before Eldon passed away on October 23, 1994. She then married Gerald Hansen in May of 1999 in Rigby, Idaho who also passed away December 17, 2012. She was an active member of the LDS Church where she served in the Relief Society Presidency and she also loved her calling in the nursery. She was a member of the LuAnn Camp of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers, and served in the ARA house as a counselor for 3 years. She also served as a facilitator for the LDS Addiction Recovery Program. Betty enjoyed fishing, gardening, canning, her family and neighbors. Betty is survived by her three sons, Blaine (Barbra) Ball of Grant, Idaho, Brad (Susan) Ball of Idaho Falls, Idaho, and Ben E. Ball of Rigby, Idaho, along with 11 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-Grandchild. She was preceded by her parents A.V. Crystal and Bessie V. Randall Crystal, her husbands, E. A. Bud Ball and Gerald Hansen, 5 sisters, and 2 brothers. Funeral Services will be held Monday, January 1, 2018, at 11:00 am. in the Grant LDS Church building (3431 East 100 North Rigby, Idaho 83442). A visitation will be held Sunday, December 31, 2017 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the Grant LDS Church Building. The family will visit with friends and family prior to the service on Monday from 9:30am to 10:45am. Interment will be at the Grant Cemetery following the service.
