Betty Joan Berrett

December 4, 1936 — June 18, 2025

Betty Joan Christensen Berrett passed away peacefully in her home in Roberts, Idaho, on June 18, 2025.

She was born on December 4, 1936, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Arnold Christensen and Ora Cope. She was one of four children — a loving sister to Larry, Barbara, and Arlene, who passed away at just 10 months old. Betty spent her childhood and teenage years in Mud Lake, where she developed a deep love for rodeo. She was a natural in the arena, with a strong connection to horses and a fearless spirit.

She attended Roberts High School, where her passion for rodeo continued to shine — and where she met the love of her life, Ronald “Ronnie” Berrett. The two were married on November 21, 1955, and built a life filled with love, laughter, and unwavering dedication to their family. Betty and Ronnie spent their entire life together in Roberts, Idaho, where they raised their children and became beloved members of the community.

Together, they raised three children — Rawna, Rick, and Ryan — who were the light of Betty’s life. She was a devoted mother who never missed a moment to support, love, and guide her children. That love only multiplied when she became a grandmother. Betty made each grandchild feel cherished, and the memories created at Grandma and Grandpa’s house are treasures they will carry forever.

Betty’s strong work ethic was evident throughout her life. She worked at Ferrell’s Grocery Store, Dutson’s AG, Broulim’s Market, and eventually found her place at the U.S. Post Office, where she worked until retirement. She also served her community as an EMT and as a proud member of the Roberts Lions Club.

A faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Betty gave her heart to her callings. She served in the Primary, Young Women’s, and Relief Society organizations, always striving to lift and care for others.

Betty will be remembered for her deep devotion to her family, her sharp wit, warm humor, and kind heart. She experienced her share of life’s trials, but her optimism, strength, and faith never wavered. She was a friend to all and a true example of resilience and compassion.

She is survived by her loving children: daughter Rawna (Bo) Maestas of Idaho Falls, ID; sons Rick (Misty) Berrett of St. Anthony, ID; and Ryan (Lanie) Berrett of Roberts, ID. She is also survived by her sister Barbara Johnson of Idaho Falls, ID, 10 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren.

Betty was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ronnie Berrett; her parents, Arnold Christensen and Ora Cope; her infant sister Arlene; her brother Larry; and her grandson Eric Berrett.

Funeral services will be held, Friday, June 27, 2025 in the Roberts LDS Church (663 N 2858 E, Roberts, ID 83444.) The family will visit with friends prior to the service from 9:30-10:45 a.m. Interment will follow at the Roberts Market Lake Cemetery.

Betty will be deeply missed.  To know her was to love her — and to be loved by her was a gift. She leaves behind a beautiful legacy of love, faith, strength, and family.
