Betty June Chase, age 96, of Ririe, Idaho, passed away peacefully on August 1, 2025, in Lewisville, Idaho. She was born on February 21, 1929, in Archer, Idaho, to Albert Jacob Ashbocker and Anna Louise Davis.
Betty spent her early years in Archer, Idaho, and attended Archer Elementary and Madison High School. On February 15, 1947, she married Derwin E. Chase; their marriage was solemnized on January 6, 1960.
Betty was a dedicated member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she served as a teacher in Primary, Sunday School, and Young Women's, as well as Young Women's President, Stake Y.W. President, and Ward Relief Society President. She worked in the Ririe School Lunch Program and at the Ririe Senior Citizens Center.
Betty was known for her love of painting, quilting, and all outdoor activities. She cherished fishing trips with her family, playing pinochle, traveling, and playing sports.
Betty is survived by her many close friends including Patty Landon, many nieces, nephews, and sisters-in-laws (Renee Ashbocker and Danita Ashbocker).
Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Dirk Chase; her son, Steve Chase; four brothers; one sister; and her parents.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at 11:00 AM at the Ririe Stake Center (14061 North 130th Road East Ririe, Idaho 83443). A visitation will be held on Saturday, August 9, 2025, from 9:30 to 10:45 AM prior to the service at the Ririe Stake Center. Interment will take place at the Ririe Shelton Cemetery.
