Betty Jean Treasure Coley

November 3, 1925 — January 18, 2014

Betty Jean Browning Treasure Coley passed away peacefully Saturday morning, January 18, 2014 in Idaho Falls, Idaho, of cause’s incident to age. Betty was born November 3, 1925, in Rexburg, Idaho, the daughter of Edmond Browning and Jeannette Corey Browning. She had four sisters and three brothers. Soon after she graduated from Rigby High School, she married Bill Treasure. They made their home in Rigby and raised seven children. Betty devoted her life to her family and left them with many great memories. Bill died in 1972 and she later married Melvin “Bud” Coley. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and she held many callings. She was very talented and loved homemaking, sewing and cooking. After her children were grown she made a study of natural foods and worked in Idaho Falls for DC Natural Food. She loved life and everything beautiful. Betty was preceded in death by her husbands, Bill Treasure and Bud Coley; a brother, Edmund “Bud” Browning Jr.; three sisters, Lyda Fife, Grace Murray and Helen Morris; a granddaughter, Christina Treasure Hamilton, great-granddaughter, Eirlyse Bolton and stepsons, Danny Coley and Jim Coley. She is survived by her children, Billie Jean Edwards, Jack (Nancy) Treasure, Sharie (Forrest) Summers, JoAnn Treasure, Gary (Mary) Treasure, Becky Sue (Dennie) Edwards and Todd Treasure; step children, Michael Coley, and Pattie Dockery. She is also survived by sisters, Donna Dale, Joyce (Donald) Gerard; brothers Ronald (Martha) Browning and Lloyd (Irma) Browning. She leaves behind 22 grandchildren and 48 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 25, 2014 at the Perry Ward LDS Chapel, 285 2nd West Street, Ririe, Idaho. The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Rigby Pioneer Cemetery. Services are under the care of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
