Betty Jane Ferguson Reiman

Betty Ellis Ferguson Reiman, 83 of Rigby, passed away Thursday, March 16, 2017 at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls. Betty was born September 14, 1933 in Thomas, Bingham, Idaho to James Albert Ellis and Alice Wandella Moses Ellis. She was raised in LaBelle and attended Schools in Labelle and Rigby, graduating from Rigby High School. On May 24, 1951, she married Claude Gene Ferguson in the Idaho Falls Temple. To this marriage was born 4 children; Danny, Terry, Linda and Kelly. Claude and Betty farmed and owned their own cleaning business. Betty also worked for Sacred Heart Hospital, Browns IGA in Ririe, Dr. Cheney”s Dental office, Lincoln Sugar Factory, and as a secretary at the INL before retiring. Claude preceded Betty in Death May 23, 1996. On October 4, 1996, she married Lynn Theodore Reiman in Rigby, Idaho and gained 8 new children that she loved as her own. They had many good years together which enriched her life. Betty was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She and Claude served as Stake dance directors teaching the young men and women to dance and then going with them to the All Church Dance Festival in Salt Lake City; which was a highlight of her life. She also served as primary pianist, a visiting teacher and as an ordinance worker with Lynn in the Idaho Falls Temple. She and Lynn went on two temple missions, one to Dallas, Texas and the other to Albuquerque, New Mexico. She enjoyed raising bum lambs, chickens, turkeys, and pigs on the farm. She loved doing puzzles, embroidery, gardening, canning, and growing flowers, especially roses and irises. Betty was a good cook and enjoyed spending time with her family camping, fishing and traveling. She is survived by her daughter, Linda O’Neil; sons, Danny (Marcene) Ferguson, Terry (Sheila) Ferguson, Kelly (Sarah) Ferguson, all of Rigby; Jim (Claudia) Neitzel, of Shelley, Dennis (Brenda ) Neitzel, of Texas, Joyce (Mark) Burgener of Utah, Gerald (Carol) Neitzel and David (Cheryl) Neitzel of Idaho Falls; Terry Reiman of Kingman, Az., Scott Reiman of Oregon, Paula Peterson of Idaho Falls ; brother, George (Bonnie) Ellis of Idaho Falls, Lilly (Dan) Patterson of Lebanon, Oregon; 12 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and her 1st great-great-grandchild on the way. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Claude Ferguson and Lynn Reiman; daughter in law, Dana Clark Ferguson; son in law, Thomas Brent O’Neil; brothers Wendell (Arzula) Ellis, Louis (Verla) Ellis, sisters, Helen (Art) Ellis DeLarna and Lorna (Don) Ellis Collette. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at the Ririe Stake Center. The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and on Tuesday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services, both at the Stake Center. Burial will be in the Annis Little Butte Cemetery. The Family wishes to recognize and thank her special caregivers Alyss Morgan and the Linda O’Neil family for their help and love. Services are under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
