Beverly Heyrend Jacobs

August 20, 1940 — February 8, 2013

Beverly Larue (Heyrend) Jacobs was born on August 20, 1940 at the LDS Hospital in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Harvey and Wilma (Farnsworth) Heyrend. She died, after a lengthy illness, on February 8, 2013 while under Hospice care in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. With an avid sportsman for a father, Beverly spent many weekends on camping/fishing trips, fondly recalling her parents making one long bed on the ground for her and her brothers. While growing up, she lived in Randolf, Utah, Star Valley, Wyoming, Irwin, Idaho as well as Idaho Falls. On April 18, 1964, she married Kenneth Jacobs. Together, they raised four children Terry Jacobs (Alla), Idaho Falls, Idaho, Timothy Jacobs, Norfolk, Virginia, Angela Womack (Pete), Smithville, Missouri, and Kenneth Jacobs Jr. Sioux Falls, South Dakota. As a Navy wife, she not only had to look forward to picking up and moving every few years but also had to be mother, father, coach and anything else her children needed while their father was at sea. One of Beverly’s passions was cooking, as her son in law put it “her dishes may not always taste the same, but they were always good.” Beverly is survived by her husband, Ken, her mother Wilma Heyrend, daughter Angela sons Terry, Tim and Ken Jr. five grandchildren, David Vaughan, Brandon Womack, Brianna Womack, Zachary Womack and Brian Jacobs and one great grandchild, Saywer Jacobs. She is also survived by five brothers, Keith Heyrend (Jolene), Boyd Heyrend, Fred Heyrend (Debbie), Lewis Heyrend (Terrie) Dan McLoud, and a sister, Jannie Heyrend. Beverly was preceded in death by her father Harvey Heyrend and three brothers, Dennis, Jerry and Kenny. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 1, 2013, at Rigby Pioneer Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
