Blair Edgar Loynd, 55, of Kimberly, Idaho passed away Saturday, September 26, 2015 at Oak Creek Rehabilitation Center of Kimberly.
Blair was born August 21, 1960 in Rexburg, a son of Lois Powell and Gail E. Loynd. He grew up in the Rigby area attending Rigby schools graduating from Rigby High School. He then attended Ricks College in Rexburg. He worked throughout his life as a computer specialist and serviced and sold computers.
Blair had a happy personality, and he liked to tell jokes and pull pranks. His tricks usually got all involved laughing because they were not mean spirited. He did have a bit of a temper, but he got over things quickly and held no grudges.
As a young adult, Blair faced some serious health challenges, and was operated on twice for a benign, but actively growing, pituitary tumor. Later, when having his wisdom teeth removed, he suffered a severe stroke that required him to be under 24 hour care for the rest of his life. Even so, those who took care of him always told family members that Blair was their favorite because he was so happy.
Blair was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served a mission in Arkansas and always had a soft spot in his heart for the people. He served and taught with boldness, and never backed away from what he believed.
He is survived by his mother Lois Briggs of Idaho Falls, his father Gail E. (Kathleen) Loynd of Twin Falls, siblings: Kerry (Rosana) Loynd of Kaysville, Utah, Ronald Loynd of Blackfoot, Steven Loynd of Shelley, Idaho, Cheryl Bell of Roberts and David (Lisa) Loynd of Eagle Mountain, Utah.
He was preceded in death by his step father Lyle Briggs.
While he will be missed by the family, we know that it was a relief to him to finally pass. God bless you Blair.
Funeral services will be held Friday, October 2, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Eckersell Memorial Chapel, 101 West Main Street, Rigby, Idaho.
