Blanche H. Murdock, 93, of Idaho Falls died Sat., Sept. 24, 2005 at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center of natural causes. Blanche was born July 28, 1912 in Ogden, UT to Edmund & Mary Ann (Bate) Hill. She was the 2nd of 8 children. Blanche had a very memorable childhood. She grew up on a farm in Lorenzo, ID, next to the Snake River. She attended Lyman Union School. Some of her favorite memories were times she spent swimming with her brothers and sisters in the Snake River. Many of her childhood days were spent rounding up the cattle on her favorite horse, Ol’ Daze. Blanche always believed in hard work! She gave everything 100% each and every day of her life. She married Jack Stacy Murdock on Feb. 27, 1931 in Lorenzo, ID. After moving around for a short time, they settled in Idaho Falls. She gave birth to 1 son, Geary and 2 daughters, Shirlene and Marlene. She adored her family and they adored her. Blanche worked 32 years for U&I Sugar Factory and 25 years at Roger Brothers. She was a member of The Eagles. Blanche enjoyed many hobbies. She was a wonderful cook; her pies being a family favorite. She was always proud of her flower and vegetable gardens. Many memorable times were spent hoeing, picking raspberries and canning the fruits of her labor. She truly instilled in her family how to be a hard worker. She enjoyed crocheting and oil painting, which she was highly talented at. She loved the outdoors and spending time with her family. Being an avid fisherman and camper helped to build many lasting memories of these fun filled trips. These memories will be cherished by her children and grandchildren forever. We will all miss your caring and giving soul, but you will forever be in our hearts with all the wonderful memories you have left us. You were such a beautiful mother, grandmother, sister and friend. We will truly miss you! Blanche was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Stacy Murdock on March 28, 1972; son, Geary; parents, Edmund and Mary Ann Hill; brothers, Wallace and Howard Hill; sisters, Delta Hill and Stella Smout; great-grandson, Nick and great-granddaughter, Grace. Blanche is survived by 2 daughters, Shirlene (Elan) Ball of Idaho Falls and Marlene (Tom) Duffield of Boise, ID; sisters Mabel (Jim) Leiper of Concord, Ca, Mary Taylor of Blackfoot; brother, Horace (Reva) Hill of Lorenzo, ID; 12 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 28, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. in the Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby. The family will receive visitors from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. on Tues. Sept. 27, 2005 and from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. on Wednesday, September 28, 2005 prior to services at Eckersell Memorial Chapel. Burial will be in the Annis Little Butte Cemetery in Annis, Idaho.
