Bob Peterson

Robert “Bob” Eugene Peterson, 69, of Rigby, died Monday, May 24, 2010, at his home. He was born November 27, 1940, in Rigby, to Harold Eugene Peterson and Ruth Campbell Peterson, he was raised and attended schools in Rigby, graduating from Rigby High School. He married Vyrla Robertson in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple, together they had 4 children. She preceded him in death in 1974. On January 12, 1978, he married Arlean (Dootzie) DeFilippis, in Rigby. He worked for Don Pieper for 18 years in the service station business and then for Bonneville County Road and Bridge for 29 years. Bob was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints; He was a hard worker and loved helping people build and remodel, he enjoyed singing and playing guitar and especially enjoyed his grandchildren. He is survived by his mother, Ruth Peterson, wife, Arlean (Dootzie) Peterson, both of Rigby, daughters, Melodi (Darren) Shewmaker, Tammy (Russ) Walker, Teresa (Russ) Lane, all of Idaho Falls, Sandi (Mark) David, of Nampa, Valarie (David) Lees, of Rigby, sons, Todd Peterson, of Rigby, Brady Hammon, of Nampa, sisters, Linda (Lester) Allen, Nancy (Merle) Potter, both of Idaho Falls, Marilyn (Ron) Bump, of Blackfoot, Peggy (Russ) Bloxham, of Rigby, brothers, Fred (Jordan) Peterson, of Florida, Larry Peterson, of Middleton, Idaho, Harold (Venus) Peterson, of Spokane, Washington, Lyle (Marietta) Peterson, of Rigby, 17 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, and his father. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, May 29, 2010, at Eckersell Memorial Chapel, 101 West Main Street, Rigby. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 12:45 p.m., prior to services at the funeral home.
