Bobby Albert Schritter Townsend

Bobby Albert Schritter Townsend, 88, of Rigby, Idaho passed away on Friday, June 30, 2023 at the Idaho Veterans Home in Pocatello, Idaho. He was born November 29, 1934 in Idaho Falls, Idaho.

Bobby grew up in Monteview, Idaho and attended schools at Terreton and Roberts, Idaho. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post in Boise, Idaho having served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict.

Bobby married Kathryn Grant in Boise, Idaho on December 24, 1964. Through his life he had worked as a welder for L.G. Lonzen Co. for ten years, as an orderly at Parkland Memorial Hospital for three years, and ten years for a Law Firm as a maintenance man, all in Dallas Texas. He was a member of and served on the board of directors of the Mud Lake Senior Citizens. Bobby was a member of the Protestant Church. He enjoyed painting and reading.

Bobby is survived by a step-son, Neal Edward Smith of Texas and three sisters; Shirley (Kent) Anderson of Lorenzo, ID, Rosalie Williams of Henderson, NC, and Gloria Hugelon of Washington. He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathryn, and his parents, Harry Harold Townsend and Elana Ethel Nelson Townsend.

A graveside service will be held in his honor on Thursday, July 6, 2023 at 11:00 AM in the Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery (600 South Yellowstone Highway, Idaho Falls, ID 83402).
