Bobby Dean Smout, 72, of Challis, formerly of Idaho Falls, died Sunday, March 6, 2011 at the Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls.
He was born May 2, 1938, in Lewisville, Idaho to Wilmer W. Smout and Edith Mortensen Smout. He was raised in Lewisville and attended schools in Rigby. In 1958, he married Aloha Simon, they later divorced. In 1976, he married Debbie Johnson, they, later divorced. On June 28, 1986, he married Beth Chapple in Milo, she preceded him in death. On August 21, 2002, he married Donna Powers in Elko, Nevada.
He worked as an electrician all over Southeast Idaho, he retired in 2003 and moved to Challis in 2005. Bobby was a member of the Eagle’s Lodge #576 in Idaho. He enjoyed his family, camping, hunting, fishing, and his horses.
He is survived by his wife, Donna Smout, of Challis, ID, daughters, Laurie Smout of Angleton, TX, Tamara (Don) Stallworth, of Plummer, ID, Jerri Smout, of Council, ID, Angela Rasberry, of Angleton, TX, step-daughters, Parva Lewis, of Rigby, Rhonda (Vance) Avery, of Rigby, Laurie (Mike) Holden, of Idaho Falls, sons, Robert (Ranie) Smout, of Belgrade, MT, Craig Smout, of Idaho Falls, ID, Jeremy (Melissa) Smout, of Idaho Falls, ID, step-son, Billy Ray Sargent Jr. , of Rigby. sisters, Wilma (Jay) Nieber, of SLC, UT, Esther (Darrel) Forman, of Idaho Falls, ID, Elaine Mitchell, of South Carolina, brothers, Billy Smout, of Meridan, Idaho, Doyle Smout, of Florida, a aunt, Elma Anderson, of Idaho Falls, ID, 25 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Kenny Smout, and a grandson.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, March 10, 2011, at Eckersell Memorial Chapel, 101 West Main Street, Rigby. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m., Wednesday evening and from 9:30 to 10:30, prior to services, both at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Milo Cemetery, under the care of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
