Bonnie Karren

March 30, 1932 — December 11, 2016

Bonnie Karren, 84 of Ririe, passed away Sunday, December 11, 2016 at Sage Grove Assisted Living Center in Rigby. Bonnie was born March 30, 1932, in Smithfield, Utah to Albert Francis Hill and Melna Nelson Hill. She was raised and attended schools in Richmond, Utah. On June 3, 1949, she married LaVere Doul Karren in the Logan LDS Temple; they were blessed with 1 daughter and 4 sons. Bonnie and LaVere made their home in Ririe. Bonnie was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints; she served in the Relief Society, Young Women’s, Sunday School and Primary organizations; she also served for 23 years in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple and served a full time mission to Nauvoo with her husband, LaVere. Bonnie was also a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, Ririe Camp. She took pride in her home, yard and garden and was a champion game player with her grandchildren and children. She is survived by her husband, LaVere Doul Karren, of Ririe, daughter, Barbara (Duane) Weber of Menan; sons, Bruce (Debbie) Karren of Rigby, Scott (Colleen) Karren of Farmington, UT, Doug (Dawn) Karren, of Rancho Cucamonga, CA; brothers, Monte Hill, of Filer, Idaho, Dennie Hill, of Rose, ID; 14 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her son Steven, and brother, Ted. Bonnie’s family extends their sincere appreciation to Amy and staff at Sage Grove Assisted Living in Rigby, to Aspen Hospice and to Nurses Karen and Cassy with Avalon Home Health. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 17, 2016 at the Ririe Stake Center, the family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services at the church. Burial will take place at 12 noon, Monday, December 19, 2016 in the Richmond, Utah Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the LDS general missionary fund.
