Boyd William Finn 62, of Rigby, passed away Wednesday Oct. 2, 2013 at his home.
Boyd was born September 15, 1951, in Rigby, ID, to John William Finn and Reva Mae Hill Finn. He grew up and attended schools in Rigby. He married Ellen (Davis) Solari on July 31, 1970. They had two sons, Ryan and Jason. They later divorced. On March 7, 1979, he married Shirley Skinner. She had two girls, Patty and Tracy. Later Jade Finn was born, to complete their family. On December 7, 1996 they were sealed in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple for time and all eternity. Boyd was a Crusher Forman for HK Contractors for 12 years, then he and wife Shirley purchased the Husky service station in Rigby that they ran together for 10 years. After closing the station Boyd became an area sales rep for Wesco until he retired just a few years ago.
A member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he was very active in the Scouting program. He was also very involved with the Rigby Youth basketball Program where he coach for many years. Boyd was a wonderful grandpa; he loved to support all of his grand kids. He traveled many miles to watch them in all in their activities. He enjoyed camping and fishing with his family, and also loved to take his kids hunting. He was very proud of his kids and grandkids accomplishments.
Boyd is survived by his loving wife Shirley Finn; sons Ryan (Heidi) Finn of Rock Springs, Wyoming, Jason (Tasha) Finn of Rigby, Jade (Jeanne) Finn of Idaho Falls; daughters Patty (Blaire) Dugger of Idaho Falls, Tracy (Jeff) Robbins of Rigby; mother Reva Finn of Rigby; brothers Kirk (Roberta) Finn, Mark (Nicole) Finn both of Rigby; sisters Marilyn (Dale) Wolfely of Salmon, Kathy (Don) Cornelius of Jerome; 14 grandchildren and 1 great-grand-child.
He was preceded in death by his father John Finn; a brother Paul Finn; and a granddaughter Shaleah Finn.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 7, 2013 at the Clark Ward LDS Church, 198 N. 4300 E., Rigby, with Bishop David Barnes, conducting. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m., Sunday at Eckersell Memorial Chapel, 101 W. Main Street, Rigby and from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m., prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Rigby Pioneer Cemetery. Services are under the care of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
