Brenda Mae Anderson Westover Opsahl passed away Thursday, March 27, at her summer home in Oceanside, Calif. She was cared for and surrounded by her loving children in her final days. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Alan Opsahl and her immortal love, Boyd Westover. Brenda was born May 9, 1942, in Thornton, to Otto Mack and Leatha McIntier Anderson. She grew up in Thornton and attended Madison High School. In 1960, she married Boyd Westover and thereafter moved to Pocatello. They moved frequently with career needs, and she was thankful to see many new things. After Boyd's passing in 1989, she moved to Oceanside to be close to her daughters. There, she met and married Alan Opsahl. With her husband, Alan, by her side, she split her time between her home in Oceanside and her cherished river home in Chester.She enjoyed her family above all. She was a loving mother and enjoyed her time as homemaker while also pursuing her many other interests. She loved to cook and entertain, and she was happiest doing for others. Brenda never wanted more out of life than to see her children happy. Throughout her many trials, she remained a source of courage, wisdom and inspiration for her children. To her friends and family, she was the source of strength even during her most trying times.Survivors include daughters, Sheri Leaverton and Lisa Padilla, of California; and sons, Mark Westover, of Missouri and David Westover, of St. Anthony. She is survived by 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.Services will be held at Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby. The family will greet loved ones for a viewing on Thursday evening from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Funeral services will take place on Friday at 2 p.m. She will be laid to rest beside her late husband, Boyd Westover, at Sutton Cemetery in Archer.
