Robert Brent “Tato” Southam, age 55, of Menan, died at his home Wednesday, June 30, 2010 of cancer.
He was under the care of Hospice of Eastern Idaho.
Brent was born October 19, 1954 at Spanish Fork, Utah a son of Robert DeRay Southam and Bettyann Schaefer Southam. He attended Rigby schools and graduated from high school in Utah. He married Becky Poole in Rigby, Idaho, they later divorced.
He served in the United States Army. He was a licensed Industrial Electrician and worked all over the United States. He was an avid Nascar fan and enjoyed family, camping and fishing.
Surviors include his son Brian K. (Annie) Southam of Idaho Falls, his fiancé Karen Heaton of Menan, three sisters Debra (Robert) Hasting of Yelm, Washington, Sharon Southam of Spanish Fork, Utah, Shauna (Denis) Paul of Rigby, two brothers, Glenn Southam of Rigby, Mike Southam of Ririe his step father Evan Lee Twomey of Menan a step brother Walter Twomey of Ririe, and one grandson Jaredt.
He was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Betty Ann and one brother David.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, July 6, 2010, at 10:00 a.m. at the Annis Little Butte Cemetery under the care of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby. The family will appreciate contributions to the Robert Brent Southam memorial fund at any Wells Fargo Bank.
