John Brian Brooks, 43, of Twin Falls, Idaho passed away on Saturday, February 6, 2016.
Brian was born March 21, 1972 in Gooding, Idaho to John H. and Sharon Greenmyer Brooks. He grew up and attended schools in Gooding and graduated from Gooding High School. After high school, Brian attended the College of Southern Idaho and graduated with a technical certification in diesel mechanics.
Brian began his working career around the age of five when he drove the trucks and tractors which were parked in the shop on the farm. As a young boy Brian could be found following his father around the farm and then later working from sun-up to sundown with the hired men. During high school he began working for the Faulkner family. It was at this time that he was introduced to driving a semi-truck, being taught by his lifelong friend Mark. This was the beginning of a long and successful career as a livestock hauler. He founded Brooks Livestock in 1994 and operated this company until his death. He was well respected in his profession, made many friends, and had many adventures during this time. Driving truck was his passion and he loved the freedom it provided and those that knew him knew of his fondness for his black Kenworth, the first truck he purchased in 1994.
In 2005, Brian followed in the Brooks tradition by becoming a farmer. He purchased an 80 acre farm southwest of Twin Falls, Idaho. Throughout the years, he meticulously transformed his farm into a successful one man farming operation. He had tremendous pride of ownership which was evident in the improvements he made and the quality of his crop.
Brian was a fun-loving man with a warm smile and a love for family and friends. He was a man of integrity with an amazing work ethic. He was always willing to help someone in need. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Brian is survived by his mother Sharon Brooks, of Idaho Falls, Idaho and his sister Sheri (Bob) Poulsen also of Idaho Falls, and several cousins and close friends. He was preceded in death by his father, John Brooks, his beloved Uncle Bruce Brooks, his grandparents, an aunt and uncles.
