Brian Blaine Rumsey

Brian Blaine Rumsey, 23, of Rigby, passed away March 18, 2012, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was born October 4, 1988, to Michael and Tammie Rumsey in Murray, Utah. Brian spent his first year and half in Utah. In 1990 Brian moved with his family to Rigby, Idaho. He attended school there, graduating from Rigby High School in 2007. He was very talented in many things including auto mechanics, construction, and finish work. He also worked in North Dakota on a frac crew and most recently as a drill rig operator. Brian was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He loved scouting and attained the rank of Eagle Scout. Brian met Jaime Fay Galbraith when he was seventeen years old and they became close friends, in August of 2009 they started dating. They quickly fell in love and were married June 26, 2010, at The Rose Reception Center in Blackfoot, Idaho. At the time of their wedding, Brian was working in North Dakota and they made their first home in Williston. In December of 2010, they decided to move home and lived in Idaho Falls. Brian found work at Lowe’s for a short while before returning to work in North Dakota. They moved to Rigby in the fall of 2011. They were blessed with the birth of their daughter, Remmie Fay, December 4, 2011. She had her daddy wrapped around her finger from the time she was born and was the light of his life. Brian had many friends. He loved biking, snow machining, hunting, camping, and anything outdoors. Most of all he loved his wife, daughter and family. He is survived by his wife; Jaime Fay Rumsey, daughter; Remmie Fay Rumsey, parents; Mike and Tammie Rumsey, all of Rigby, sisters; Mandy (Logan) Miller, of Williston, North Dakota, Shara (Kyle) Gibson, of Menan, Megan (Trevor) Workman, of Pleasant Grove, Utah, grandfather; Lewis Hanson, of Idaho Falls, and many nieces and nephews who adore him. We love you Brian and miss you. He was preceded in death by his grandparents; Fern and George Blaine Rumsey, and grandmother; Arlene Hanson. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 23, 2012, at the Rigby East Stake Center, 4021 E. 300 N., Rigby. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m., Thursday evening at Eckersell Memorial Chapel, 101 W. Main Street, Rigby and Friday, from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m., prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Rigby Pioneer Cemetery, under the care of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby. Contributions may be made to the Brian Rumsey memorial fund at any Wells Fargo Bank.
