Burdett Young “Tom” Robison, age 67, of LaBelle, died at Madison Memorial Hospital, Thursday, July 5, 2007.
Tom was born July 6, 1939 at Rigby, a son of Roy Adrian Robison and Elva Young Robison. He attended schools in the Rexburg area, graduating from Madison High School. Following High School he served in the National Guard 116th Engineering Division in Rexburg from 1956-1964. January 15, 1962, he married Barbara Joyce Cherry, in the Idaho Falls L.D.S Temple. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served as a teacher and in the Bishopric in the LaBelle 1st Ward, and in the Rock Island, Illinois Ward. “B.Y.” worked as a Quality Inspector and Engineer at the I.N.E.E.L for twenty-nine years. In 1994 he moved to Virginia where he worked as a Quality Inspector on an Army project for eighteen months. He then moved to Moline, Illinois where he also worked as a Quality Inspector. In 1998 he returned to Rigby and retired in 1999, after suffering a stroke. Tom enjoyed fishing, camping, tinkering in his shop, fixing things, mug runs, road trips, and especially loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Tom is survived by his wife, Joyce, three sons, Jody C. (Mindy) Robison of LaBelle, Darin L. (Whitney) Robison of LaBelle, Heath B. (Jessica) Robison of Boise, one daughter, Nancy (Andrew) Burke of Melba, three sisters, Troy (Clint) Carlson of Lyman, Tamara (Dale) Peterson of Escondido, CA, Tracy (Merle) Hymas of Gladstone, OR, three brothers, A. Rand (Dorothy) Robison of Rigby, Rod (Sharon) Robison of Lyman, Ford Robison, of Oregon, and nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held Monday, July 9, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at the LaBelle 1st Ward Chapel with Bishop Rod Furniss, officiating. The family will visit with friends on Sunday, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby, and from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at the Church on Monday. Burial will be in the Annis Little Butte Cemetery.
