Calvert Wayne Ivie age 82 of Terreton, Idaho died Monday, September 12, 2005, at his home.
Calvert was born December 23, 1922 in Richfield, Colorado, the son of Wilford Byron Ivie and Lucille Ann Peterson Ivie. He was a graduate of the 1941 Springville High School class.
He served during World War II in the Navy as a Petty Officer 2nd Class and was a Life Member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Verl Skidmore Post 8893 in Mud Lake, Idaho.
He married Kathryn Hannah Anderson in Spanish Fork, Utah on December 18, 1947. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints he served in many callings. He served missions for the Church to Ghana, Africa and Scotland.
He worked as a machinist at the Nuclear Test Sites in Nevada and Idaho. In Idaho he worked at EBR-1.
He was a wonderful, thoughtful, kind and loving husband and father who grew a beautiful garden, enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, hunting, was a skilled carpenter and cabinet builder.
Calvert is survived by his wife Kathryn H. Ivie of Terreton, Idaho. Daughters; Calleen Ivie of Fairview, Wyoming and Marilyn Ivie (Afton) Hogan of Thayne, Wyoming. Sons; Allen B. (Dorothy) Ivie of Las Vegas, Nevada and Calvert Lynn Ivie of Billings, Montana.
A sister, Jane (Grady) Edenfield of Mapleton, Utah and two brothers; Bill (Darlene) Ivie of Ogden, Utah and Richard (Carole) Ivie of North Ogden, Utah. Seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Betty Loveless and two brothers; Quinton Ivie and Hugh Ivie.
Funeral services will be held Friday, September 16, 2005 at 10:30 a.m. in the Terreton LDS Stake Center with Bishop Gary Skidmore officiating. The family will meet friends prior to services at the Terreton Stake Center on Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery in Star Valley, Wyoming.
