Calvin Loy Moser (73) passed away Wednesday, November 12, 2008 at his home in Grant, Idaho surrounded by his loving wife and family after a valiant fight against leukemia.
He was born July 28, 1935 to Francis Lyman Moser and Esther Miskin Moser in Idaho Falls, Idaho. He spent his early years in Coltman and then moved to Grant. He attended schools in Fairview, Grant, Lewisville, and graduated from Rigby High School in 1953. Calvin served an LDS mission to the Western Canadian Mission and then attended Ricks College. He married Sharon Wenona Haws from Newdale, Idaho almost 50 years ago on December 30, 1958 in the Idaho Falls Temple. They made their first home in Orem, Utah while Cal finished his Bachelor of Science Degree at BYU, June 1960. They have spent the rest of their married life in Grant. Calvin began his teaching career at Roberts High School. He also taught at Bonneville and Shelley High. He loved teaching math, physics, and computer science. Not only was he the favorite teacher of many of his students, but has often been thanked for the character principles he taught. After 20 years of teaching he worked as an engineer at INEEL. Cal enjoyed working the land on his small farm and doing custom farming for neighbors. He was an ardent reader and enjoyed working the crossword puzzles and jumbles to keep his mind alert. He also enjoyed skiing, music, dancing, and teaching. He was a great repair man and could fix almost anything. Calvin served his fellow men and held many positions in the church. He especially loved teaching and serving as an officiator in the Idaho Falls Temple. Most of all he enjoyed and loved his family: Shawna (Robert) Pace of Fresno, CA; Annette (Dave) Divis of Puyallup; WA, Melanie (Brian) Poole of Pocatello, ID; Loy (Jeanine) Moser of Logan, UT; Spencer (MaryAnn) Moser of LasVegas, NV; Veldon (Sharee) Moser of Deer Lodge, MT; Rick (Evelania) Moser stationed in Germany; and Zenna (Otto) Krauss of Ogden, UT.
