Clavin F. Reed, age 82, of Rigby, died at Madison Memorial Hospital Wednesday, February 13, 2008.
Calvin was born July 10, 1925, in Ririe, Idaho a son of Freeman Reed and Lula Yearsley. He attended Lorenzo Elementary, Midway High School, Brigham Young University Provo, and Utah State University in Logan Utah. On October 1943 he began his service in the 8th Air force as a Technical Sergeant in the 100th Bomb Group, stationed in England. He married Nelda Shippen in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on July 16, 1947.
During his life he worked as a Farmer and Rancher. He was a High Priest in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and enjoyed snowmobile riding, horse riding, hunting, fishing, and was a loving, caring father and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife Nelda, sons; Dennis C. (Sharon) Reed, Randall S. (Shiela) Reed, Stan F. (Lori) Reed, Roger B. (Angie) Reed, sisters; Freda Madsen, Afton Wilcox, Helen Scheets, Alice Kinghorn, Norma Waters, a brother Paul Reed, thirteen grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Janet and a brother, Roy.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 16, 2008 at the Rigby East Stake Center, with Bishop Brett Olaveson, officiating. The family will visit with friends Friday from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at Eckersell Memorial Chapel and from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Saturday, at the Rigby East Stake Center. Interment will be in the Annis Little Butte Cemetery.
